Targus, a global leader in laptop cases and mobile computing accessories, has announced that its MiraLogic® Connect retrofit adapter has been named a CES® 2025 Innovation Award Honouree in the Sustainability, Eco-Design & Smart Energy category. An elite panel of judges at CES recognised MiraLogic Connect for its unique features, which help organisations advance their sustainability goals. Mira Logic is a patented, intelligent workspace system that allows IT and management teams to remotely control, monitor, and optimise their company’s modular IT ecosystems, from anywhere.
About MiraLogic® Connect
The MiraLogic Connect adapter enables organisations to seamlessly and cost-effectively upgrade their existing Targus docking stations to IoT-connected smart docks, configured for MiraLogic. By providing real-time insights into power consumption, energy usage, equipment performance, and desk occupancy, MiraLogic helps businesses make informed decisions that contribute to more effective sustainability efforts.
MiraLogic® Connect is a retrofit adapter that sits between a Targus® docking station specifically DOCK182, DOCK430, DOCK310, and DOCK570 and the host device. It integrates the MiraLogic Workspace Intelligence System into the dock. This small yet powerful adapter enables Over-the-Air (OTA) Firmware updates and remote management tasks through the MiraLogic platform, eliminating the need for manual updates across multiple docks. According to data from Targus enterprise users, remote OTA updates can reduce the time spent on dock maintenance by more than 90%.
Sustainability Focus
In line with its commitment to sustainability, Targus has incorporated recycled materials into both the adapter and its packaging. The adapter’s housing is made from 75% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, and it comes in recyclable packaging, including a biodegradable CPE-07 bag, which degrades faster than regular plastic once discarded. Targus is also working towards using 85% PCR plastic in future docking products and aims for 100% recycled packaging as part of its ongoing sustainability roadmap.
Availability and CES 2025
The MiraLogic Connect adapter will be available in April 2025, and will be featured at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, taking place from 7–10 January 2025. Attendees can experience firsthand demonstrations of the MiraLogic Connect adapter and the MiraLogic Workspace Intelligence System at the event. Additionally, MiraLogic Connect will be showcased in the CES Innovation Awards Showcase and at CES Unveiled, premier media preview event, on 5 January 2025 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Centre.
